Flipper 600 ST achieves 2.1 meter height to be garaged
We recently met clients Andre and Jen at the Bobbin Head boat show where we were displaying the Flipper 600 Sport Top. They were not actively looking for a boat but were impressed by the Sport Top's profile and utilisation of space being able to convert the forward and aft seating out into berths and still having sports like performance. Andre made contact a few weeks later and asked "how low can you go?".
Andre was not talking price, his requirement was that the 600 Sport Top fit below his garage door height of 2.1 meters. This is actually quite a common issue. Over half the boats we sell have some form of restriction to consider to so far as storage is concerned.
We worked with our parnters Sales Trailers to develop a ultra low trailer, that is still highway / full speed capable. A mixture of Flipper's ingenuity in the Sport Top design and Sales Trailers capability to design and fabricate and deliver a ultra low trailer has led to what is quite possibly the first sleepable trailer boat that can be stored in most height restricted buildings / garages of 2.1 meters. This is a feat when most cuddy cabins are over 2.5 meters in height.
To achieve height, the trailer was fitted with bunks, drop axles, dual 13" wheels, bent drawbar and an additional bracket to drop the drawbar even lower with the jockey wheel engaged. Sounds like a expensive trailer right? Wrong, the trailer cost around $5k.
We arranged for the 600 Sport Top to live in the dry store at Akuna Bay so they could make immediate and frequent use of their new boat while the trailer was fabricated over four weeks.
The Flipper Sport Top continues to impress, even in dry stack scenarios with height restrictions and higher fees the higher the boat is. The Sport Top has a similar height profile to a bow rider while still providing for accomodation akin to a hardtop.
